Lyntravious Gipson scored a game-high 21 points to lead North Webster to a 66-57 road victory over the Evangel Eagles Tuesday night at Evangel, keeping the Knights just a game behind District 1-3A leader Bossier in the standings.
Dontavious Smith scored 13 points, while his twin brother Montavious Smith, playing for the first time since injuring his ribs in last Tuesday’s showdown with the Bearkats, added 11 points as North Webster improved to 19-8 overall and 5-1 in district play.
Calvin Daniels and Tim Stokes scored 16 points apiece to lead Evangel (15-11, 3-3), while Trey Woods hit four 3-pointers among his 14 points for the Eagles.
Southwood 56, Parkway 54: At Parkway, the District 1-5A-leading Cowboys survived a road scare from the Panthers, outscoring the home team 19-13 in the final period to pick up the win.
John Parker scored a game-high 16 points and Shakelvin Calhoun added 11 as Southwood improved to 17-8 overall and a perfect 6-0 in district play.
Brodrick Jefferson led Parkway (10-9, 2-4) with 14 points and Keondre Wudtee added 11 for the Panthers.
Captain Shreve 86, Haughton 58: At Haughton, the Gators outscored the Bucs 25-7 in the fourth quarter to put away a close game and pick up the District 1-5A road victory.
Jesse McWright scored 25 points to lead all scorers as Shreve improved to 13-8 and 5-1 in district. Cameron Coleman dropped in 13 points, Toronco Loston fired in 12, and Eric Mosley and Marcus Lovelace added 11 each for the Gators.
Javonte Woodard led Haughton (7-16, 0-6) with 24 points and PJ Douglas had 21 for the Bucs.
Byrd 89, Airline 61: At Airline, the Yellow Jackets went on a 44-19 run through the second and third periods to put away the Vikings and stay in the thick of the District 1-5A race.
Chad Lott scored 17 points as Byrd improved to 22-5 and 4-2 in district. Montrey Thomas had 13 points and David Holmes and Kory Ashley added 10 each for the Jackets.
KJ Bilbo and Noah Hildebrand led Airline (7-18, 1-5) with 15 points apiece.
Bossier 71, BTW 60: At Bossier, Kentrell Hardy scored 21 points to lead the Bearkats to the District 1-3A win.
Devonte Hall fired in 15 and Malik Dunn added 14 as Bossier improved to 19-7 and 6-0 in district.
Karim El-Amin led BTW (8-11, 2-4) with 17 points, while DeAndre Morgan dropped in 11, and Marvante Alexander and Bobdrick Thomas added 10 each.
Fair Park 73, North DeSoto 49: At Fair Park, the Indians won for the ninth time in 10 games to keep pace in District 1-4A with the victory over the Griffins.
D’Angelo McClinton led all scorers with 23 points as Fair Park improved to 16-10 overall and 6-1 in district.
Loyola 61, Benton 54: At Benton, Eldrick English scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Flyers over the Tigers in District 1-4A.
Logan Robertson scored 11 points and Drekaleus Williams added 10 as Loyola improved to 17-9 overall and 4-3 in district competition.
William Givens led Benton (4-16, 0-7) with 13 points and Josh Sherer added 12.
Huntington 87, Northwood 52: At Huntington, KaDavion Evans led three players in double figures with 21 points as the Class 4A seventh-ranked Raiders rolled over the Falcons in District 1-4A action.
Branden Sheppard scored 15 points and Johnny Woodard added 10 as Huntington extended its season mark to 21-2 overall and 7-0 in district.
