Pewaukee Invitational: The Mayville girls won the team title by a 35.5-margin, in large part due to another big night by Hope Kubicek. The senior won four events, including a meet record triple jump of 34 feet, 6.5 inches. She won the 100-meter in 16.69 seconds, the 300 hurdles in 47.94 seconds and took the pole vault at 9-0.

The Cardinals’ 400 relay team of Alex McGraw, Amy Chen, Cassie Strook and Brianna Huiezanga won in 53.89 seconds, and the same foursome took the 800 relay in 1:53.34. Mayville also got a win in the high jump from Christy Dobbratz at 4-9.

Taking second for the Mayville girls was Chen in the 100 (13.28) and the 3,200 relay of Erica Wenninger, Chantel Danner, Dobbratz and Beca Wenninger (10:34.77). Taylor Mangan was third in the 200 and 400 and Danner was third in the long jump.

The Cardinal boys placed eighth. Dominic Cypher led the way with a second place in the discus (119-4), while Andrew Nothem was third in the pole vault.
