Thought Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.) guard Kwe Parker’s aerial display Friday night at the City of Palms Classic (Fort Myers, Fla.) was nuts?
Consider this: Parker, who was voted Best Dunker by his peers this summer, did all of that (blocked a shot with his head level with the rim, 360-dunk, countless alley-oops, etc.) with a fractured finger.
Let that sink in for a few tics.
“I fractured my right pinky last Thursday,” said Parker, who scored 20 points in the Trojans’ 84-72 win over Whitney Young (Chicago) in the opening round. “I didn’t think I would do that good because of that, but sometimes you have to just man-up!”
Parker’s motivation?
“Me and my boys are on a mission to get to No. 1,” Parker said.
Wesleyan Christian is currently ranked No. 2 and if they win out, and No. 1 Montverde (Montverde, Fla.) also wins out, the two will meet in the City of Palms Classic title game on Tuesday.
