MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Lake Norman High School continued their winning ways Monday, shutting out crosstown rival Mooresville 5-0. The Wildcats’ soccer team now has three consecutive shutouts, and seven overall in 2014. Coach Ryan Villiard’s club currently sits 6-1 in North Piedmont play, good enough for first place with an astounding +30 goal differential.
Mooresville slipped to 5-2 in NPC play, fourth place in the conference. The Blue Devils had won six straight games entering Monday’s contest.
Lake Norman’s next contest is an October 1 home date with Alexander Central High School. Mooresville High School returns to the pitch at Statesville on October 1.
