Lakewood rallies in 2nd half to defeat Prairie View in 5A playoffs

By

HENDERSON – No. 4-seeded Prairie View led No. 5-seeded Lakewood at the half in the 2015 Class 5A state football playoffs.  No only was Lakewood down by three at the half, but the team had only rushed a total of three yards as well.  But that was until after halftime.  Then it seemed like a different team came out and played.

Lakewood ended up beating Prairie View 27-9 to advance to the second round of 5A playoffs.  The team was able to make up for the three yards in the first half, and exploded for more than 300 rush yard in the second.  Talk about a comeback.

Lakewood plays No. 1-seeded Grandview next week in Aurora.  Grandview advanced to the second round with a 51-0 win over No. 8 Brighton.

The time and day of the playoff game is still being decided.
