The Asheville American Legion Post 70 baseball team will be back “home” Thursday in every sense of the word.
Game 3 and Game 4 (if necessary) of the first-round state playoff series between No. 2 Asheville (12-7) and seventh-seeded Huntersville is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Reynolds.
Asheville lost Game 1 of the best-of-five series Tuesday in Waynesville, 8-1.
Post 70 can no longer use its home field (Erwin) for playoff games since it does not have lights suitable for night games, Legion officials have ruled.
Asheville was unable to find an available Buncombe County field for Tuesday’s playoff opener. First-year Post 70 coach Cort Radford is a Reynolds graduate.
