The Asheville American Legion Post 70 baseball team finished its first regular season under coach Cort Radford tied for second place in the Western Division.

Asheville (11-7) was involved in a pair of one-run games Sunday – Post 70 edged Henderson County, 4-3, at Erwin before later dropping a 5-4 game at Haywood County.

David Brinkley (Reynolds) was the winning pitcher in the Henderson game, with Carson Jones (North Buncombe) coming in to make the save.

Kyle Ramsey (North Buncombe) was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs, Casey Williams (Reynolds) went 1-2 with an RBI and Bryce Hensley was 2-4.

In the Haywood game, Trevor Stockhausen (Reynolds) was 2-4 with an RBI and Ryan Rickey (North Buncombe) went 2-4.

The American Legion playoffs begin this week and will be seeded Monday.
