There were several local winners on the first day of the Front Range League track and field championships.
Josephine Natrasevschi of Fort Collins won the girls shot put, and the Lambkins’ 3200-meter relay team also took home a conference title at 1stBank Stadium in Westminster.
Poudre’s Tarah Vijayasarathy won the triple jump, and Paul Miller won the 3200-meter run.
Fossil Ridge’s Tyler Russell won the boys long jump, and the boys 3200-meter relay team took second, as did the SaberCats’ girls 3200-meter relay team.
Full results from the first day of the meet were not immediately available. The final day of the FRL championships is Friday at 1stBank Stadium, beginning at 4 p.m.
THOMPSON VALLEY 14, WINDSOR 5 — The No. 10-seeded Wizards (7-9) were down just 4-3 at half, but No. 7 Thompson Valley (12-4) scored five unanswered goals in the third quarter to pull away and knock Windsor out in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs. KC Scott scored twice for Windsor. Hunter Hop, Austin Lind and Nathan Tucker added a goal each for Windsor.
ARAPAHOE 5, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 1 — Maggie Sexton had a hat trick as No. 6 Arapahoe (12-3-1) knocked No. 27 Rocky Mountain (6-8-2) out in the first round of the Class 5A girls soccer playoffs in the game at Littleton Public Schools Stadium.
