What: Manitowoc Bowling Association Hall of Fame nominations
When: Now through March 1
Synopsis: Bowlers must have participated in the Manitowoc association for at least 10 years and be at least 50 years of age. Bowlers can be nominated based on their bowling skills, or their contributions to the game. Active, retired, or deceased members are eligible. Application forms are available at area bowling centers.

FOOTBALL Now-July
What: Mariners seeking coaches/players
Synopsis: The Manitowoc Co. Mariners are looking to fill their roster and several coaching positions for the 2014 season. The team is open to anyone wanting an opportunity to participate in football as a player, coach or staff member. Players range from post high school to college and some professional experience. The season begins in late July with a 10 game schedule that runs through October and into November for playoffs and championship game. Games are primarily on Saturdays.

HALL OF FAME Now-February
What: Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame nominations
When: Now-Feb. 24, awards banquet April 30. Nomination deadline is March 3.
Where: Holiday Inn
Synopsis: The Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for male and female senior college athletic awards and achievement/recognition awards. Any male or female who participated in Spring sports in 2013 or who will graduate in May 2014 is eligible. Name and a brief resume should be sent by Feb. 24. The Hall of Fame is also accepting nominations for individuals to be honored with an achievement/recognition Award.

RUNNING March
What: 2nd annual Aurora Health Care Two Rivers 10-mile run, three-person relay and debut of the two-mile run/walk
When: March 23 with the 10-mile run, relay at 8 a.m. and two-mile run/walk at 8:10 a.m.
Where: Two Rivers High School
Synopsis: Races start and finish at Two Rivers High School. Races will once again feature bib chip timing, technical shirts, music, refreshments, and awards for all races. All 14-and-under finishers in the two-mile run/walk will receive a ribbon.

What: Treatment Trail 5K run/walk
When: June 17, 8 a.m.
Where: Mariner’s Trail
Synopsis: Treatment Trail 2014 is a 9-day, 200-mile running event, beginning in Milwaukee and finishing in Sister Bay, to raise funds for the Go Bo Foundation and the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. There are nine separate 5k run/walk events scheduled along the “trail,” including in Manitowoc on Tuesday, June 17. The local event begins at 8 a.m. on Mariner’s Trail across from the Aurora Medical Center. Participants will receive a performance T-shirt.

VOLLEYBALL March
What: St. Peter Fisherman Catholic School Athletic Association volleyball tournament
When: March 1-2
Where: Two Rivers Community House
Cost: $15 for single division, $25 for two divisions.
Synopsis: There will be three divisions (all Quads): Women’s (tentative start time 9:00 a.m on March 1), Men’s Follows women’s play at about 1:00 p.m.), and Coed (tentative start time 10:00 a.m. on March 2). If you do not have a team but would like to play, call and have your name added to the Luck-of-the-Draw. Cost is $15 player donation ($25 if you play Men’s & Coed or Women’s & Coed) – Payable before play. Proceeds benefit the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic School Athletic Association. The public is welcome to attend. Admission is free. Food and refreshments are available.
