Local swimming coach to be inducted into college HOF

By

Fossil Ridge High School boys swimming coach Mark Morehouse on Tuesday was informed that he would be inducted into the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s 2014 Hall of Fame Class for his swimming exploits at the school.

Morehouse, who swam for the school from 1993-97, piled up six conference titles and a conference record in the 400 individual medley. Morehouse was an All-American in the 400 IM in 1997.

“It’s a huge honor,” Morehouse said. “It’s not something I think you ever set as a goal. When I was going to school there, there was this huge wall with plaques of some pretty succesful athletes. It’s a huge honor (to join them).”

The induction ceremony is in October, and Morehouse said he plans to attend.
