LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge has already played in 15 games as his team, Cedar Hill, Texas, won the 6A-II state championship, but he’s not worried about playing in one more. The American Family Insurance ALL-USA wide receiver is in the Under Armour All-America High School Football Game on Friday in St. Petersburg.

“I am never tired,” Lodge said after Tuesday’s practice. “After the season, I take a couple of days off and it’s back to workouts again.”

Lodge has the added benefit of having a familiar quarterback on Team Armour, his squad for Friday’s game.

“I have a pretty good connection with Kyler Murray (the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Offensive Player of the Year from Allen, Texas),” Lodge said. “I have been throwing with him for a while now.”

Lodge said he doesn’t plan to announce his college choice until signing day in early February. One of the colleges in the running for his services is Murray’s expected school, Texas A&M. That’s especially true if the Aggies hire Darrell Wyatt, the former receivers coach at Texas. Lodge almost committed to Texas as a junior because of his relationship with Wyatt.

Ole Miss is on Lodge’s list because of his family is from there; Baylor and Oklahoma also are in the running.

“A couple of guys here joked with me, but they know it’s all on me,” Lodge said. “I’m not going to make my decision off of anybody. I don’t want to rush on anything, so I am probably going to wait until the last minute to make sure it is the right decision for me.”
