Walnut Hills senior combo guard MaCio Teague averages 23.3 points and 6.8 rebounds as the Eagles (4-0) are undefeated after the first full week.
Walnut Hills plays host to Anderson (2-1) on Friday night.
What is even more impressive though is the team effort, says coach Ricardo Hill.
“Our team is playing with a lot of effort and tenacity right now, especially on the defensive end,” Hill said.
“We will need to continue our development in team chemistry to be an elite team.”
Teague, one of the state’s top uncommitted players in the 2015 class, has several scholarship offers including Akron, Alcorn State, Liberty, Seton Hall, Oakland, Winthrop, Bryant University and Yale.
“MaCio is proving to be one of the top players in the state,” Hill said. “We are pleased with his ability to trust his younger teammates and show them how to win.”
Senior point guard Caleb Tregre is second in the ECC with 7.0 assists per game to along with 7.5 points per game.
“MaCio and Caleb are a joy to coach because they are both tremendous leaders on and off the court,” Hill said.
