CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mallard Creek began its quest for back-to-back state championships on Friday, topping Myers Park 42-14. The Mavericks jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead before Myers Park responded, bringing the score to 14-7.
Mallard Creek answered with 14 unanswered points, extending their lead to 21 points. Mallard Creek was on cruise control from there, holding on for the 42-14 victory.
