Manual High School basketball player Dwayne Sutton – one of the top players in the city – committed to the University of North Carolina-Asheville on Friday during his official visit to the school.
Sutton, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who had a good spring and summer and gained significant recruiting attention while playing for the Kentucky Travelers club, also had scholarship offers from Wright State, Wofford, St. Francis and Pikeville.
Sutton averaged 21 points and was an All-Seventh Region selection last season. He was also earned Courier-Journal All-State honorable mention.
Congrats to Dwayne "Waynie" Sutton on his verbal commitment to UNC Asheville of the Big South Conference.
