Grand Blanc 8, Walled Lake Northern 7: Ryan Bartkowiak pitched six innings with four strikeouts and Chris Flattley closed the game for Grand Blanc (12-7). Matt Mastromatteo went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Jake Martin went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs. Zach Gilbert pitched seven innings with four strike outs, allowing eight hits and two walks for Walled Lake Northern (9-6). Jordan Anstandig went 3-for-4 with one run for Northern (9-6), Drake Lubin went 2-for-4 with a run and Danny Gieselman went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Grosse Pointe North 5, Warren Mott (2-8, 4-16) 0: Daniel Robinson went 2-3 with a double and an RBI for North (14-7, 6-4 MAC White). Sal Ciaravino scored twice and stole two bases. Mott is 4-16 (2-8).

Grosse Pointe South 2, Mt. Clemens Chippewa Valley 0: Andrew Eaton pitched a no-hitter for South (11-12, 3-6 MAC Red). He struck out four batters. Ryan Liagre hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Chippewa Valley is now 2-8 in the MAC Red.

Harrison Twp. L’Anse Creuse 3, Utica Ford 2: Joe Morola pitched a complete game with three strikeouts, allowing three hits and one walk for L’Anse Creuse (14-10, 5-5 MAC White). Nick Morola went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI and a run. Hunter Lega got the final out for L’Anse Creuse with a throw to home plate in the bottom of the seventh. Ford is 8-5 (6-4).

Novi 5, Westland Glenn 0: Adam Tobias pitched seven innings with no runs and one hit for Novi (9-9, 4-5 KLAA Central). Tobias also racked up eight strikeouts and two walks in the win. Michael Mitchell had three hits, including a double, and two runs scored for Novi while Tyler Whitehead followed up going 3-for-3 with one run and an RBI. Glenn is 9-10 (3-7 KLAA South).

Southfield-Lathrup 13, Ferndale 8: Xavier Jefferson pitched five innings with four strikeouts, allowing four hits for Southfield-Lathrup (8-10-1). Troy Justice went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs and Jalen Thomas had a home run,. two RBIs and a walk. Damone Ellis went 2-for-2 with a double, one RBI and two runs for Ferndale.

Sterling Heights Stevenson 2, Macomb Twp. L’Anse Cruese North 0: Zack McGuire pitched the win in six innings for Stevenson (19-1, 10-0 MAC Red), giving up four hits with eight strikeouts. Brandon Hughes was 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

Warren Cousino 5, Fraser 0: Sean Petroski pitched a complete game with four strikeouts, allowing five hits and one walk for Cousino (17-4, 8-2 MAC Gold). Nick Palmer went 1-for-2 with a double, one RBI, a walk and two runs for Cousino. Jason Querro pitched four innings with five strikeouts, allowing two hits for Fraser (13-7, 5-5 MAC Gold).

Birmingham Brother Rice 72, Novi Detroit Catholic Central 56: In the 100- and 200-meters, Buka Onwuzurike was the dual winner for Brother Rice (4-0). Catholic Central drops to 1-3.


Dearborn Henry Ford Academy 3, Detroit University Prep 0: Regina Krajacse scored all three goals for Henry Ford Academy (3-1). Samantha Stada had three saves and had her second shutout of the season.

New Baltimore Anchor Bay 6, Madison Heights Lamphere 0: Jada Foster and Whitney Fleming each scored two goals and Emma Streveler and Hillerie Schatzle each scored a goal and had an assistfor Anchor Bay (8-1-2). Emily Zweng and Amanda Emke each had two saves. Lamphere is 0-7-1.

Girls tennis

Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 7, Birmingham Detroit Country Day 1: In No. 1 singles, Cranbrook’s Alex Najarian def. Country Day’s Sasha Hartje, 6-0, 6-2. In No. 1 doubles, Cranbrook’s Meg Phyle and Amanda Simmons def. Country Day’s Ellie Miller and Sadina Fadel, 6-1, 6-9. Cranbrook is 6-1.


Detroit Henry Ford 20, East English Village 5: C’ance Buskin had four strikeouts and pitched all three innings for Henry Ford (1-6). Ebonee Abraham went 3-for-3 with three singles, four RBIs and three runs. East English Village is 4-3.

Detroit Renaissance 15, Detroit Western 0: Winning pitcher Cabria Arnold had seven strikeouts for Detroit Renaissance (17-4, 7-0 PSL). Brianna Lawrence went 3-for-4 with a three run homer and Chloe Ostolosa went 2-for-4 with a triple.
