Former Detroit Consortium star Josh Jackson will not be the only former Michigan high school basketball player at California’s Prolific Prep Academy this season. He will be joined by Saginaw’s Algevon Eichelberger.
Eichelberger, 6-feet-6, who averaged 13 points and 13 rebounds as a sophomore, will play for the first-year California academy. The players will be students at nearby schools in Napa Valley.
“I guess he wants to get recruited by the best of the best,” said Saginaw coach Julian Taylor. “He said there are NBA trainers down there that’s going to train him and Josh.”
