Russo defeated Bryan Damon 5-2 in the 120-pound quarterfinals Saturday of the NJSIAA Individual Wrestling Championships. He will take on Hanover Park’s Anthony Cefolo in the semifinals.

He was later joined by Joey Schultz of Howell, who won by decision over John Faugno, 4-3, at 160, and Nicholas Costa of Brick Memorial, who won 13-5 over Cooper Gallagher, 13-5, at 182. Schultz will face Jonathan Schleifer of East Brunswick, while Costa will take on Joey Balboni of Brearley/Dayton.

The Shore advanced two semifinalists at 195, as both Keansburg’s Tyree Sutton and CBA’s Michael Oxley moved on. Sutton won by decision over Robbie Maggiulli, 3-2, while Oxley shut out Jeff Velez, 5-0. Sutton draws Montgomery’s Anthony Cassar in the semis and Oxley will take on Franklin’s Ralph Normandia.
