MOUNT PLEASANT, N.C. — Mount Pleasant boys hoops snapped a five-game skid Wednesday, defeating South Stanly 81-75 behind Thomas Boshear’s career-record 24 rebounds.
Boshear was a one-man wrecking crew for the Tigers, dominating the paint and scoring 23 points shooting 8-of-15 from the field. Boshears was also tops on the team with four assists and leads the team in charges taken.
The game was tightly contested, with Mount Pleasant rallying in the second half to take a 44-40 lead into the fourth quarter. South Stanly did just enough in the final quarter, stretching the game to overtime.
Four Mount Pleasant players reached double figures in the game. Jacob Lee had a strong night for the Tigers, scoring 20 and pulling down seven rebounds.
The Tigers will return to the court December 9 at Gray Stone Day.
