Bryan Mulligan’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Monsignor Donovan a 4-3 win over Central in Shore Conference Class B South on Thursday.

It was Mulligan’s third straight game-winning run batted in.

The Griffins rallied for two runs in the seventh to win the game. Kyle Malloy opened with a walk and Chris Calderone walkedfollowed with a base on balls to put runners at first and second. Russ Petranto hit an infield single and Malloy scored on an error on the play.

Steve Lazicki drew an intentional walk. Matt Drake went down on strikes and Mulligan followed with his hit, a single through the middle on a 2-2 pitch.

Central swung ahead 3-2 with two runs in the seventh.

Ken Beyrouty opened with a double and John Forrester followed with a single. Javon Hardy plated a run with a bunt single and Frank Rose followed with an RBI single. Winner Zach Mann, a freshman, retired the lone batter he faced in the seventh for his first varsity win.

Donovan sophomore Andrew Jarvis allowed nine hits, two walks and struck out one in 623 innings.

MIDD. SOUTH 5, MARLBORO 4: The Eagles won on a two-out balk in the bottom of the eighth in Class A North. Andrew Wisialko led off with a single and stole two bases before scoring the winning run. Johnny Zega posted his first career varsity win, pitching a scoreless seventh and eighth and striking out four. Teammates Kyle Brey and Joe Timmins each stroked two hits.

HOLMDEL 4, MANASQUAN 0: Jeff Wischerath pitched a no-hitter,walked one and struck out four for the Hornets (2-2) in a Class A Central victory over the Warriors (2-2).

DJ Goins capped Holmdel’s four-run third inning with a two-run double, while teammate Tyler Fischer had two hits.

MATAWAN 3, RED BANK 2: Billy Rodriguez had an RBI single with none out and the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, giving the Huskies a Class B North win.

Chris Veary opened and was hit by a pitch. Joe Piscopo walked and Sal Barreto, who ran for Veary, raced to third on a wild pitch. Adam Elliot tied the game with an i nfield single and Rodriguez followed with his hit.

Rodriguez tripled in the fourth and scored on a Luke Adduchio single to tie the game at 1.

TR EAST 8, TR NORTH 2: C.J. Hirschy (2-0) pitched the visiting Raiders past the Mariners, working six-plus innings and allowing one run on eight hits, walking two and striking out eight.

East’s Jon Meopla hit a two-run homer in the seventh. East’s Joe Rose went 2-for-4. Teammate Joe Venditto went 2-for-4, including a double. North’s Beau Wyckoff went 2-for-3.

MANALAPAN 7, MIDD. NORTH 3: Alex Wolf’s two-out, run-scoring single in the top of the sixth scored the go-ahead run for the Braves in Class A North.

Nick Serra (1-1) was the winner, tossing a three-hitter. Serra allowed three runs–two earned–struck out four and walked one.

WALL 6, LONG BRANCH 0: The Crimson Knights erupted for five runs in the top of the second and cruised past the Green Wave in Class B North.

Third baseman Ryan Orender went 2-for-3 and drove in a fifth-inning run.

FREEHOLD TWP. 9, COLTS
NECK 3: Joe Ellerman (1-1) tossed six shutout innings, leading the visiting Patriots past the Cougars in Class A North.

Ellerman struck out four, walked four and allowed seven hits. Kenny Carrier went 3-for-3, scored two runs and drove in a run. Nick Cardace went 3-for-5, scored two runs and knocked in one. Chris Talbott went 3-for-5, drove in one run and scored one.

Talbott and Joe Silverstrone hit RBI singles in a five-run second inning., powering the Patriots to a 6-0 lead. Colts Neck’s Mike Antico, Paul Marinello, Tyler Kapuscinski and Gianni Magliaro each had two hits.

SHORE 8, RB
CATHOLIC 5: James Kelly, Andrew Schulz and Nick Blaney propelled the visiting Blue Devils past the Caseys in Class A Central.

Kelly went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs. Schulz went 2-for-5, drove in two runs and scored two. Blaney drove in two runs. The Caseys’ Al Molina went 3-for-4, including a third-inning solo homer.

MONMOUTH 6, SJ
VIANNEY 5: Christian DeFazio (1-1) notched his first career varsity win, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out six in six innings, leading the Falcons past the visiting Lancers in Class A Central.

Monmouth took a 3-0 lead in the third on a Corey Shevlin sacrifice fly, an error and a Dan Valerio run-scoring single. Monmouth extended its lead to 6-0 in the third on a Matt Vincenti two-run single and a John Bonczyk run-scoring single. Vincenti went 2-for-3. Bonczyk went 2-for-4 and teammate Jimmy Green went 2-for-3 and scored one run.

The Lancers’ Anthony Santoro hit a two-run single in the fifth.

The Lancers’ Joe Rotelli went 2-for-3 and drove in one run. Teammates Nick Gugliara and Drew Fisher each had two hits and scored two runs.

POINT BEACH 11, ASBURY
PARK 1: Antonio Garcia went 4-for-4 and scored three runs and Kevin Donnelly won his first career varsity games as the host Garnet Gulls bested the Blue Bishops in Class B Central.

RUMSON-FAIR HAVEN 6, RARITAN
0: Shane McCarthy pitched a one-hitter and struck out 15 to lead the Bulldogs past the Rockets in Class A Central.

Raritan freshman Ryan Ruziecki singled and stole one base. Morgan Maguire went 1-for-4, scored two runs and drove in two. Max Goione homered.

PINELANDS 5, POINT
BORO 1: Cory Burke struck out 10 and allowed two hits for the Wildcats in their win over the visiting Panthers in Class B South.

RBI singles by Vinny Bodinello and David Lunn helped the winners to a 3-0 lead in the first. Tom McAndrew drove in the final run with an infield out. Burke hit an RBI double in the second and Mitch Merrill stroked a run-scoring single in the third. The Panthers’ Dan Gonella lofted a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
