Mustangs hold on to win a nail-biter over Vikings

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Scott Chadwick’s Myers Park Mustangs got back into the win column Friday, outlasting North Meck 43-42 in one of the best games of the season. Myers Park was in control of the game early, leading by as much as 22 points in the first half. North Meck refused to go away, as Brad Baker’s Vikings fought to get back into the game. Nolan Beasley led North Meck down the field late, scoring a touchdown to bring the Vikings within one. Baker’s club went for the two-point conversion and seemingly the win, but Myers Park denied their attempt. The Mustangs were able to recover the onside kick and run out the clock, holding one for the one-point win at home.
