The New Holstein wrestling team benefited from four forfeit wins in the first five matches and the Huskies held off a late Kiel rally in earning a 45-36 home Eastern Wisconsin Conference win on Friday night.

Matt Halverson (285 pounds), Phillip Schultz (120), Tanner Woepse (126) and Ben Mannenbach (132) had pins for Kiel as the Raiders tied the match at 24-24 after eight matches.

Adam Lisowe’s pin at 138 pounds made it 30-24 New Holstein, but Kiel’s Evan Maurer followed with a pin of his own to make it 30-30.

Jacob Barth’s 3-0 decision at 170 pounds ultimately clinched the win for the hosts.

Kiel’s Aaron Field (182) also won by pin.
