No. 1 Trinity soccer team tops field for Bulldog Cup

Three of Kentucky’s top high school boys’ soccer teams will compete in this week’s Bulldog Cup at Male.

Trinity (10-2) – No. 1 in the state in the MaherRankings.com Top 25 released Sunday – will join No. 14 Central Hardin and No. 18 North Oldham as the top squads in the eight-team field.

Trinity will meet North Oldham at 6 p.m. Monday in the tournament opener. The championship game is set for 7 p.m. Saturday.

Here is the schedule (all times p.m.):

* Monday – Trinity vs. North Oldham, 6; Central Hardin vs. DeSales, 8

* Tuesday – Male vs. Christian Academy, 6; Collins vs. Thomas Nelson, 8

* Wednesday – Trinity-North Oldham loser vs. Central Hardin-DeSales loser, 6; Trinity-North Oldham winner vs. Central Hardin-DeSales winner, 8

* Thursday – Male-Christian Academy loser vs. Collins-Thomas Nelson loser, 6; Male-Christian Academy winner vs. Collins-Thomas Nelson winner, 8

* Saturday – Seventh-place game, 1; third-place game, 3; fifth-place game, 5; championship game, 7

Trinity is among three boys’ soccer teams from Louisville in the top 10 of the MaherRankings, joining No. 5 St. Xavier and No. 9 Fern Creek.
