Norfork took two of three games from Flippin in high school basketball action Friday night at Bobby D. Hulse Gymnasium.
The Panthers improved to 4-1 on the season with a 63-53 victory over the Bobcats as Travis Lewis tossed in 20 points.
Norfork led 16-6 after one quarter and 30-19 at the half before Flippin rallied for a 44-43 lead after three. Nate Bryant added 13 points for Norfork, while Wyatt Chapman notched 10, Jacob Davis totaled eight, Austin Stinnett tallied six, and Grant Casey and Alex Disandro chipped in three each.
Spencer Politte led Flippin (2-2) with 21 points, while Josh Rogers added 13, Landry Kopacz tallied seven, Jacob Leonard had five, Dean Smyser notched four and Jakeb Tate pitched in three.
The Lady Bobcats improved to 5-0 with a 36-28 victory in the senior girls’ game as Jessica Pace scored 15 points.
Flippin led 13-7 after one quarter, but Norfork rallied to knot the score at 13-13 at the half. The Lady Bobcats led 25-22 after three quarters. Flippin shot 12 of 15 from the foul line in the game, including 7 of 8 in the fourth quarter.
Micah Hudson added eight points for the Lady Bobcats, Karlee Wood totaled six, Hannah Butcher had five and Sydney Riggs chipped in two. Norfork (3-2) was led by 13 points from Kelcy Acklin, while Cheyenne Acklin tallied 11, and Riley Scalf and Abbie Belding pitched in two apiece.
Norfork was a 28-24 winner in the junior boys’ game with Alex Reynolds leading the way with 14 points. Michael Robbins led Flippin with eight points, and Brock Belding added eight for Norfork.
