By

North Side (4-3) at USJ (4-3) (Boys)

Players to watch: North Side’s Chavis Fuller; USJ’s Nigel Peeples

Earlier this year: North Side used a big third quarter to win 69-45.

Notes: North Side is coming off of its biggest win of the season, beating defending Class AA champion South Side. The Indians have to get that win out of their mind and be ready to play a tough USJ team. Expect the Bruins to play better than they did nine days ago when the teams met the first time. USJ did not shoot the ball well the first time.

Greenfield (5-1) at Dresden (3-1) (Girls)

Players to watch: Greenfield’s Brittany Peoples; Dresden’s Jacqueline Ellis

Last season: Teams split two games with Dresden winning 37-34 and Greenfield winning 62-60.

Notes: There is no love lost between these two Weakley County teams. The two games last year were won by a combined five points. Greenfield and Dresden know how to push each other, and both are well coached. Both of these teams are among the favorites to win their respective districts, and this will be a good early-season test.
