Chiner Long fired in a game-high 31 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Plain Dealing Lions sent Arcadia to its first District 1-1A loss of the season, 55-46, at Plain Dealing Tuesday night, handing the Hornets only their third overall defeat of the season in the process.
Ja’Carlius Stromile scored seven points to go with 10 rebounds and six assists, and Keldrick Carper scored five and grabbed 11 rebounds as Plain Dealing finished the regular season at 18-7 and 7-3 in district play. The Lions now await the announcement of playoff pairings Sunday.
Eric Brown dropped in 13 points and Antwine Baker added 12 as Arcadia, who had already clinched the district championship ahead of Grambling and Plain Dealing, slipped to 24-3 overall and 9-1 in 1-1A play.
Bossier 63, Evangel 53: At Evangel, the Bearkats closed out a perfect season in District 1-3A with the victory over the Eagles.
Devonte Hall scored 20 points to lead Bossier, who sprinted out to an early 10-point lead, then held on in the second half for the win. Malik Dunn and Kentrell Hardy poured in 15 points each as the Bearkats wrapped up their season as District 1-3A champions at 22-7 overall and an unblemished 10-0 in district competition.
Tim Stokes scored a game-high 26 points and Trey Woods added 13 as Evangel dropped to 16-13 and 5-5.
North Webster 62, Mansfield 50: At Mansfield, the Knights capped off a stellar season in District 1-3A with a road victory over the Wolverines.
North Webster wraps up its regular season with a final mark of 22-9 overall and 8-2 in district play, good for second in 1-3A behind champion Bossier.
Mansfield closes out its season at 6-21 and 0-10.
BTW 74, Green Oaks 59: At Booker T. Washington, the Lions streaked out to a 16-point lead at halftime and coasted to the victory over the Giants in the District 1-3A finale for both squads.
Karim El-Amin led all scorers with 22 points as BTW finished up at 11-12 overall and 5-5 in district play.
Veonta Keith scored 20 points, Andrew Shaw dropped in 12 and Quan Givens added 10 as Green Oaks fell to 8-20 and 2-8.
Natchitoches Central 53, Ruston 47: At Natchitoches Central, the Chiefs wrapped up the District 2-5A title by edging the second-place Bearcats in the regular-season finale.
Danny Cohen scored 15 points while Ricky Metoyer and Brandon Rachal dropped in 11 each as Natchitoches Central closed out its season at 25-3 overall and 9-0 in district competition.
Isaiah Buggs poured in a game-high 18 points for Ruston as it dropped to 19-9 and 7-2.
