Central Catholic wins third straight Division IV Section title

The Sonora Wildcats played the Central Catholic Raiders on Friday in the Sac-Joaquin Division IV Championship game. The Raiders were victorious 42-35, and crowned as the Sac-Joaquin Division IV Section Champions.

On the Wildcats openeing drive, Wyatt Faughman had an 11-yard sweep for the first score of the game, 7-0 Sonora.

But Central Catholic answered back when Justin Rice broke loose on the first play from scrimmage, and score a 59-yard touchdown to tie the game 7-7.

At the end of the first quarter, Central Catholic’s Hunter Petlansky did a pump fake and found wide open Ryan Vierra to put the Raiders up 14-7.

With the win, the Raiders claim their third straight Sac-Joaquin Division IV Section title.
