Prep baseball roundup: Bahrs fans 16 as Roncalli edges Reedsville

Brett Bahrs struck out 16 batters as the Roncalli baseball team recorded a 6-4 win over visiting Reedsville in an Olympian Conference contest on Thursday.

The Panthers took the early lead with three runs in the top of the third inning. The Jets began to chip away with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame.

Roncalli scored a pair of runs in the home half of the fifth to knot the game at three.

Reedsville regained the lead with a run in the top of the sixth. However, the Jets pushed three runs across in the bottom of the inning to take the lead once and for all.

Bahrs threw a complete game and surrendered just one earned run on seven hits. He walked one.

Tyler Heyduk, Jared Patek, and Lucas Stuiber each had two hits for the Jets (6-2, 4-2 OC).

Elliott Ebert finished the game with three hits and four RBIs for Reedsville (7-4, 7-4 OC).

Cody Schamburek took the loss. He worked five 13 innings and struck out one and walked three. He surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

Valders 5, Man. Lutheran 1

A four-run fifth inning helped the visiting Vikings (5-8, 3-5 OC) to the win.

Valders’ Ben Behnke was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Kyle Staudt drove in a run for the Lancers (5-9, 2-8 OC).

Lincoln Raddatz took the loss, tossing 4 23 innings and allowing three earned runs on six hits, striking out one and walking two.

Ryan Valleskey turned in a complete-game four-hitter to take the victory He allowed one earned run, walking seven and striking out seven.
