Roncalli got a stellar performance from pitcher Justin Bonin, who went the distance for the Jets in a 7-2 victory over host St. Mary Central on Monday.
Bonin threw seven innings and held the Zephyrs to two runs — both earned — on four hits while striking out five.
The turning point for Roncalli was a five-run seventh inning after scoring once each in the second and fourth.
Mason Hrudka went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a pair of RBIs to pace the Jets while Evan Jagemann (2-for-4) also had an RBI and scored once. In all, seven different players for Roncalli would go on to score a run.
St. Lawrence 9, Mishicot 6
Mishicot fell to host St. Lawrence Seminary 9-6 in a non-conference game on Monday.
With the game tied at one, the Hilltoppers broke it open with four runs in both the third and fourth innings.
Trailing 9-3 after the fourth, the Indians fought back with two runs of their own in the fifth and another in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.
Weston Cracraft led Mishicot with a 2-for-four performance at the plate. He drove in two and also drew a walk.
Derek Cornils was saddled with the loss, pitching three innings and allowing five runs on two hits. He walked three and struck out three.
