Prep baseball roundup: Lincoln splits with De Pere


The Manitowoc Lincoln baseball team split a doubleheader with host De Pere on Saturday.

The Ships claimed Game 1 6-5 in 10 innings before falling to the Redbirds 4-1 in the second contest.

Brian Tlachac singled in Logan Kettner in the 10th inning to push Lincoln to the win.

Devon Seiler finished the contest 3-for-6 at the plate with a triple. Brennan Mrotek was 2-for-5 and drove in a pair.

Mrotek was also the winning pitcher. He worked four innings and allowed just one earned run on three hits. He struck out three and walked two.

Game 2 belonged to De Pere.

The Redbirds scored one run in both the first and third innings and tacked on two more in the fourth to put the game on ice.

Brett Bertsche had two hits for Manitowoc and drove in the Ships’ only run.

Byron Anderson took the loss. He pitched five innings and allowed four earned runs, striking out four and issuing two walks.

Reedsville 3, 8 Wrightstown 2, 5

The visiting Panthers took a pair of Olympian Conference games from the Tigers on Saturday, winning by scores of 3-2 and 8-5.

In the first game, Elliott Ebert delivered the game-winning hit in the seventh inning when he knocked an RBI-single that scored Brandon Thelen.

Ebert also earned the win, tossing a complete-game five-hitter. He struck out five and allowed one earned run.

Reedsville’s offense didn’t waste any time in Game 2, hanging up for runs in the top of the first.

The Panthers pushed a run across in the fourth and fifth inning before plating two more in the seventh.

Ryan Schwahn was 3-for-5, while Thelen added two hits of his own. Ebert had two RBIs.

Schwahn tossed five innings en route to the win, striking out three, walking four, and allowing four earned runs.
