Prep baseball roundup: Roncalli sweeps DH

The Roncalli baseball team swept host Wrightstown in an Olympian Conference doubleheader, winning in polar opposite fashion.

The Jets won Game 1 1-0 before taking Game 2 11-10.

Brett Bahrs propelled Roncalli in Game 1, throwing a complete-game two-hit shutout while striking out seven. He also had the lone hit for the Jets, going 1-for-3 with an RBI in the first inning for all the run support he’d need.

In Game 2, Roncalli jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after the first inning but trailed 7-6 entering the top of the seventh. The Jets would go on to score five runs in the frame and held off a late Tigers rally for the win.

Mason Hrudka (1-for-3) drove in a pair of runs for Roncalli while also scoring twice himself. Teammates Jared Patek and Tyler Heyduk each went 2-for-3.

Pulaski 4, Man. Lincoln 1

Lincoln pitcher Brent Landon threw five strong innings but got the no decision, allowing one unearned run.

Taking the loss in relief for the Ships was Byron Anderson, who allowed three runs on three hits in 23 of an inning of work in the sixth.

Ben Kohls led Lincoln’s offense by going 1-for-2 with an RBI double in the fifth. Brian Tlachac (2-for-3) swiped two bags for the Ships.
