Class 3A No. 10 Yorktown won a battle of top teams with a 9-0 victory against New Castle. Nicole Ridgeway and Kara Tucker each had two hits and a double for the Tigers (20-4), who inflicted only the fourth loss on the Trojans (15-4). Grace Lumpkin allowed only six hits and walked none in a complete-game effort.
Wapahani is ranked No. 4 in the latest Class 2A poll, and Yorktown remains at No. 10 in the Class 3A poll. New Castle is receiving votes in Class 4A.
Randolph Southern had four players named to the All-Randolph County team. The Rebels’ Sarah Snider, Courtney Bray, Molly O’Conner and Tia Seymour each earned the honor. The following players were also named to the all-county team: Shaylee Stigleman (Monroe Central), Mikaela McGrath (Monroe Central), MacKyndsea Burke (Union), Courtney Hicks (Union), DeAnn Kauffman (Union), Brittany Osborne (Union City), Rebecca Neville (Winchester) and Lindsey McCoy (Winchester). The following players earned honorable mentions: Jocelyn Peckham (Monroe Central), Lisa Rodriguez (Union), Kali Miller (Union City) and Jessica Woolf (Winchester).
Shenandoah knocked off Eastern Hancock 8-4 on Monday. Taylor Goyette and Rachel Krathwohl each hit home runs for the Raiders, while Krathwohl struck out 10.

Monroe Central had four players named to the All-Randolph County team. The Golden Bears’ Jake Combs, Jesse Reum, Jordan Bowmer, Bracken Barga each earned all-county honors. Other all-county honorees included Taylor Moore (Union City), Kyle Cross (Union City), Austin Myers (Winchester), Michael Georgi (Winchester), Bryant Clark (Winchester), Samuel Hosbrook (Randolph Southern) and Chandler Harris (Randolph Southern). The following players earned honorable mentions: Beau Combs (Monroe Central), Aaron Beatty (Winchester) and Kory Slick (Randolph Southern).
Delta fell 5-4 Monday at Bellmont. Rob Fox had three hits, including a double, while Jacob Van Pelt allowed only one earned run in 52⁄3 innings.
Central fell 156-196 to Richmond. Keegan Bronnenberg shot a 39 to lead Central and Boyd McCoy shot a 44.
Wapahani topped Blue River 172-187. Connor Hensley medaled for the Raiders (4-2) with a 40.
Yorktown finished sixth at the Hoosier Heritage Conference meet, Delta finished seventh and New Castle was eighth. The Tigers’ lone win came in the 3,200 relay, when A’Dreana Howard-Anderson, Lauren Elston, Sarah Hazen and Carly Trulock combined to win the event. Delta’s Kaitlyn Rawls won the shot put, and New Castle’s Zuzana Muniova tied for second in the pole vault.
Central’s Tyler Arens was selected to participate in the Hoosier Reunion Classic all-star game on June 6 in Knightstown, Ind. Arens will play for the Hickory Huskers, as will Ball State signee Jeremie Tyler (Arsenal Tech). Ball State signee Sean Sellers (Greensburg) will play for the Terhune Tigers.
Winchester fell 5-0 to Hagerstown on Monday.
