Coach Paul Ourada’s thoughts: “She is the heart and core, whatever she does. If she’s not scoring a lot, she draws double teams. Defensively, she’s averaging seven blocks a game. We just funnel things towards her. That helps everyone else on the floor.”

* What do you want to do for a living? “I want to be a physical therapist.”

* Why are sports important to you? “Sports are important to me because when you’re on the court (or track) nothing else matters, you can just forget about everything. It’s just you doing something you love with your teammates who share that passion with you.”

* What’s your strength as a person? “I’m a team player, determined, and very passionate about whatever I set my mind on.”

* What do you still need to work on? “Keeping my confidence up and being able to work around the defense better when I’m double teamed.”

* Do you have any pre-game rituals? “Take a nap, pray, and right before the tip I slap my knee (and my team does it along with me, which is like the sweetest thing ever).”
