Tom’s week

Jankowski scored 10 points in a win last week against Sheboygan Falls and is averaging more than 13 points per game this season. He leads the team in rebounds (81) and rebounds per game (5.8).

All-time team sports achievement

“Going to sectional final in basketball my sophomore year.”

All-time individual achievement

“State in cross country last year — my senior season.”

No. 1 athletic goal

“I want to be a three-sport state qualifier. … I have it in cross country and I want to make it in basketball and in track. And then being an 11-time letter winner in all varsity athletics.”

Coach Jason Duff’s thoughts

“Tom, in the offseason, we started to get him mentally prepared for the kind of role that he would play for us this season — a lot of that had to do with his defense. And I think he really embraced that. We typically put him on the best offensive player for the opposing team, and he’s really thrived in that role. Not only that, but he’s got a lot of energy that he brings to this team, and he’s a vocal leader which is always good. Plus what he had before, which was a nice perimeter shot, to go with the rest of his game.”

Tom’s thoughts

“I feel good. Everything is really clicking with the whole team. I mean, you’ve got to give some credit to the team for the assists and the points, everyone’s got to box out their guy to get my rebounds. So it’s been a solid senior season so far. … I had a good season last year coming into it, enough varsity experience, so it’s really helped me excel this year.”
