Boys’ basketball Cherry Hill East Tournament
Schalick’s Mike Holloway had 23 points to lead four Cougars in double figures as his team topped Lenape, 67-51, on Saturday. The Indians held an 18-16 lead after eight minutes, but Schalick outscored Lenape 16-6 in the second quarter to take control.
DeAndre Solomon and Rashaan Holloway scored 14 points apiece while Melvin Allen chipped in with 12.
On Sunday, St. Augustine slipped by Eastern, 69-66. Mike Vasturia led the way with 18 points while Sa’eed Nelson poured in 16 and Nate Segal added 11.

One day before the Hermits’ victory over Eastern, Prep went to Middle Township and earned a tough win over the Panthers.
The teams were tied at 33 through three quarters, but St. Augustine pulled out the victory by outscoring Middle 13-8 in the final eight minutes.
Segal was the Hermits’ leading scorer, netting 14 points, while Nelson chipped in with 12 and Vasturia added eight.
Wrestling Vineland quad
Vineland 106-pounder Steven Bergamo decked all three of his opponents on Saturday, including one in nine seconds, as the Fighting Clan swept a quad with Cherry Hill East (57-10), Ocean City (37-36) and Deptford (74-6). Bergamo spent a total of 2 minutes, 33 seconds on the mat.
Bergamo’s teammate Zach Nealis (126) also had three pins, his fastest coming in 58 seconds against Ocean City’s Jeremiah Johnson. Vineland’s Luis Santiago (113) also went 3-0 on the day, while Isaiah Ocasio (120) and Tiawahn Cosby (182) went 2-0 in bouts they wrestled and also picked up a forfeit victory each.
