ALMOND – Almond-Bancroft’s Austin Bunders scored the winning basket on a driving layup with 5 seconds left, before Wild Rose missed a half-court shot attempt as time expired in the Central Wisconsin-10 matchup, and Amond won 48-47 Friday.

Ethan Yonke led Almond with 16 points, and Evan Pagel added 13. Bunders scored 8 points.

MANAWA – Isaac Elliott went 17 of 22 from the field on the way to a game-high 34 points for Pacelli.

Elliott also grabbed 10 rebounds as the Cardinals improved to 4-1 in the Central Wisconsin Conference-10.

Brett O’Sullivan finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

STEVENS POINT – Sami Kay Shafranski scored a game-high 12 points as the Cardinals picked up their first win of the season. Pacelli and Manawa were tied heading into the fourth quarter, but the Cardinals did not allow a single point over the final 8 minutes.

“It feels good. We played with great effort tonight and that gave us a lot of confidence and we followed through and finished the game,” Pacelli Adam Osypowski said.
