The Bronson boys’ basketball team spoiled St. Philip’s hopes for a perfect season on Wednesday night, handing the visiting Tigers a 53-52 defeat in non-conference action.
“We didn’t play good at all. Came out sluggish in the first half,” said St. Philip head coach Dino English. “We just played a lot mistake-prone basketball. A ton of turnovers… And Bronson came out ready to play, and we weren’t ready with no energy.”
Class D third-ranked St. Philip (13-1) was led by Tyler Hubbard Neil with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists. Also for the Tigers, Brent DeBree had 10 points and six rebounds and Brayden Darr had 13 points and four rebounds.
