Prep roundup: Marshall outlasts Pennfield in volleyball

The Marshall volleyball team advanced to the Class B district final at Comstock, but not before putting away a pesky Pennfield team on Wednesday.

The Redhawks (35-11-2) will face rival Harper Creek in Thursday’s 7 p.m. district championship after defeating the Panthers by scores of 25-13, 26-24 and 26-24.

“Tonight was a struggle for us. I think we came out too amped up and our adrenaline started going away by the second set,” said Marshall coach John Miller. “Pennfield is a good team and we know how bad they wanted to beat us tonight.
