Coming off its first defeat of the season, the St. Philip boys’ basketball team dropped three spots in the latest Michigan Associated Press prep basketball poll released on Tuesday.
St. Philip was ranked No. 6 in Class D after a loss to Bronson put the Tigers at 14-1 overall this season.
Also in the boys’ poll: Battle Creek Central received nine votes for honorable mention in Class A and Homer received eight votes for honorable mention in Class C.
In the girls’ poll, Gull Lake moved into the No. 9 spot in Class A; Marshall is ranked eighth in Class B, where Olivet is honorable mention; and Athens moved up two spots to No. 6 in Class D.
(At) Bellevue 46, Pittsford 26: In a makeup from a game originally scheduled for January 24, Cole Madry posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds in the win for Bellevue. Also for the Broncos (9-6, 8-5 SCAA), Ethan Bloch had 13 points and seven rebounds, while LaWann Randolph had eight points and 10 rebounds.
(At) Bronson 53, Colon 29: Liz Baker finished with 15 points and two assists in the win for Bronson. Also for the Vikings, Skyler Sobeski had nine points while Kinslea Blouin and Makayla Sikorski had eight points apiece. For Colon, Makayla Craun had 12 points and Skyler Harvey added six points.
