Prep softball roundup: Lincoln downed by GB Southwest

The Manitowoc Lincoln softball team led 3-0 entering the fifth inning before visiting Green Bay Southwest rallied to knock off the Ships 5-3 on Thursday.

The Trojans scored once in the fifth and tied it by scoring twice in the sixth before taking the lead in the seventh with two more runs.

Alex Luedtke paced Lincoln’s offense by going 1-for-3 with an RBIs while teammate Sam Kaufman (1-for-3) also drove in a run.

Hannah Spindler took the loss for the Ships, throwing all seven innings allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out seven.

Reedsville 15, Brillion 4 (5)

Lauren Holschbach and Sammy Van Ells each had four RBIs to pace the visiting Panthers past the Lions.

Holschbach (2-for-3) had a pair of doubles while scoring three times while Van Ells (2-for-4) scored twice and had a double of her own.

Chloe Sebo earned the win for Reedsville (8-6, 5-6 Olympian Conference), pitching all five innings allowing four runs — none earned — on six hits with two strikeouts and a walk.

Valders 16, St. Mary Central 9

The visiting Vikings fell behind 9-4 after four innings but responded to score 12 unanswered to knock off the Zephyrs.

Brittany Erickson earned the complete-game win for Valders, striking out six while allowing nine runs — seven earned — on 11 hits.

Erickson also made an impact offensively, going 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs. Michiela Schwoerer (4-for-5) had a double while leading the Vikings with four RBIs while teammate Nicole Glaeser (3-for-5) drove in two.
