Prep softball roundup: Reedsville 3-0 at New Holstein Invitational


The Reedsville softball team went 3-0 at the New Holstein Invite on Saturday.

The Panthers topped the host Huskies 9-2 in the first game of the day.

Riley Grimm finished the game 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs. Lauren Holschbach had a double and drove in two.

Brenna Kiekhaefer picked up the win for the Panthers, tossing 4 23 innings and striking out three. She allowed just one earned run.

A five-run fifth inning propelled Reedsville to a 6-4 win over Kiel in Game 2.

Sammy Van Ells had a single and 2 RBI for the Panthers, while Kiekhaefer, Holschbach, and Katie Ziemer each added two hits.

Dana Fritsch belted a home run and drove in two for Kiel.

Alayna Freis was handed the loss. She pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking one.

Ziemer earned the win after throwing a complete game. She allowed four earned runs on five hits, struck out five and walked two.

Reedsville ended the day in style with a 22-0 win over Howards Grove in five innings.

Grimm went 3-for-4 with a walk and 5 RBIs for the Panthers. Ziemer went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs of her own. She finished the game a home run short of the cycle.

Reedsville drew 12 walks as a team.

Chloe Sebo kept the Tigers’ bats in check, tossing a three-hit shutout. She struck out three and walked three.

Two Rivers Invitational

Two Rivers went 1-1 at its own invitational on Saturday.

The Raiders fell to Mishicot 7-3 in the opening game.

Kelly Junk had two doubles for the Indians, while Tayler Krause was 2-for-3 with two walks.

Ali Hansen went 2-for3 for TR and Marissa Broehm added a double.

Brooke Shillcox took the loss. She pitched all seven innings and struck out seven and allowed seven hits.

The Raiders bounced back with a 13-8 win over Manitowoc Lutheran.

Bailee Walesh picked up four hits in four trips and scored three runs for TR. Shillcox and Erica Fidler each chipped in with a pair of hits.

Shillcox recorded the win, striking out a pair.

Southern Door won the tournament after recording a 12-2 win over Lutheran and an 8-0 win over Mishicot.

Complete stats for Mishicot and Manitowoc Lutheran were not provided.
