Prep softball roundup: Reedsville goes unbeaten at Manty Tourney


The Reedsville softball team went undefeated at Saturday’s Manty Softball Tourney hosted by Manitowoc Lincoln, including victories over local schools Lincoln and Manitowoc Lutheran.

The Panthers first faced the host Ships, prevailing 11-6 despite falling behind 2-0 after the first inning. Reedsville’s Katie Ziemer earned the win, going 2+ innings while allowing two earned runs on one hit. Hannah Roffers paced the Panthers offense, going 1-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.

For Lincoln, Kaitlin Sukowaty took the loss, throwing two innings and allowing five earned runs on six hits. Shayna Schroeder was 1-for-3 with a 3-run home run in the fifth to lead the Ships offense.

Next up for Reedsville was a 15-11 win over Manitowoc Lutheran as Chloe Sebo (1-for-3) had a double and an RBI to pace the Panthers. Earning the win again was Ziemer, who threw 113 innings in relief.

Kaitlin Radue (3-for-3) was a homer short of the cycle as she drove in three runs for the Lancers. MacKayla Menges took the loss for Lutheran, lasting 313 innings and allowing four runs on five hits.

The final game of the tournament for Reedsville saw the Panthers take down Denmark 5-3 in seven innings. Sebo earned the complete-game win by allowing three runs — none earned — on seven hits. Lauren Holschbach (2-for-4) drove in a pair for Reedsville.

Lincoln finished the tourney 2-1, winning their last two games 8-4 over Denmark and 10-9 in seven innings against Lutheran.

A six-run third inning propelled the Ships against the Vikings as Lainey Braun (2-for-3) had two RBIs.

Against the Lancers, Braun again led the charge by going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Sabrina Luedtke (1-for-5) had a solo home run for Lincoln also.

Complete stats for Manitowoc Lincoln and Manitowoc Lutheran were not provided.

Late Friday Mishicot 18-8, Man. Lutheran 2-9

The Indians and Lancers split the Olympian Conference doubleheader with Mishicot taking Game 1 18-2 before host Lutheran won Game 2 9-8.

Tayler Krause led the Indians in Game 1, going 3-for-5 with seven RBIs and three runs scored. She also blasted a pair of home runs, a two-run shot in the second and a grand slam in the sixth. Also for Mishicot, Hailey LeClair (3-for-3) hit a double, a triple and drove in four.

Lindsay Bries earned the win for the Indians, pitching all six innings while allowing two runs on eight hits.

For Lutheran, Kaitlin Radue and MacKayla Menges were each 2-for-3 with a run scored. Menges started and took the loss for the Lancers in Game 1, throwing 4 13 innings.

In Game 2, Mishicot, which was the home team, led 4-1 entering the top of the 6th inning before Lutheran outscored them 5-2 in the next two innings to work extras. The Lancers then scored three in the top of the eighth and held off a Indians rally.

Menges pitched all eight innings for Lutheran to earn the win, allowing eight runs on 10 hits while striking out four.

Mishicot’s Alyssa Ahumada took the loss, being charged with three runs — one earned — on a hit and a walk before leaving the game in the eighth.

Ryley Schetter (2-for-3) and Hannah Yagodinski (1-for-4) each had three RBIs to lead the Lancers offense.

For the Indians, Kenda Krejcarek (2-for-4) drew a walk and drove in a run to pace Mishicot.
