Hope Kubicek won four events as the Mayville girls track and field team finished first out of seven in the Mayville Invitational.
Mayville finished with 216 points, while Waupun was second with 144. The Waupun boys’ team finished first (196) while the Mayville boys were fourth (87).
Kubicek took the 100 and 300 hurdles, finishing in 16.87 and 48.62. She also won the pole vault (9 feet, nine inches) and the triple jump (33-03.25).
Amy Chen, Taylor Mangan and Erica Wenninger added wins for Mayville, as Chen won the 100 (13.19), Mangan the 400 (1:04.91) and Wenninger the 800 (2:41.44). The Cardinals also won the 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 relay races.
The Warriors got first place finishes out of Hannah Smith in the 1600 (5:53.54), Kyra Verheyen in the high jump (4-10) and Jasmine Dolske in the discus (111-04).
On the boys side, Waupun got 10 first place finishes with four coming from Adrian Harmsen. Harmsen won the 100 (11.49), 200 (23.84), 400 (52.99) and the high jump (5-11).
Matt Kuik added two wins for Waupun in the 1600 (4:50.92) and the 3200 (10:27.28) while Bryce Verheyen won the 800 (2:10.61), Brady Stockwell won the discus throw (145-04) and Jake Murphy won the shot put (41-06). The 3200 relay team consisting of Kuik, Verheyen, Bryce Buchda and Kyle Miller won with a time of 9:04.13.
Mayville boys captured the 800 relay, with a team consisting of Alex Maze, Auston Padron, Corbin Schroeder and Donovin Lee finished in 1:44.09.
