Prep wrestling: TR, Reedsville holds steady in WWO rankings


Wisconsin Wrestling Online released its eighth poll of the season this week.

Both Two Rivers and Reedsville continue to be mentioned in the team rankings.

The Raiders are ranked fourth in Division 2 for the sixth straight week, while the Panthers moved up to eighth in Division 3 after being an honorable mention selection a week ago.

Nineteen area wrestlers were recognized individually.

In Division 1, Manitowoc Lincoln’s Zac Youngchild and Jose Acosta each are ranked No. 7 at their respective weight classes but slipped from the previous week. Youngchild was No. 6 at 145 last week and Acosta was No. 5 at 126.

Once again, Two Rivers has seven wrestlers mentioned in this week’s rankings. Paul Bianchi remains the No. 1 wrestler at 106. Ty Pelot (120) is No. 3. Meanwhile, Chris Yauch (138) holds steady at the No. 2 spot.

Chandler Donati holds steady at ninth at 145 pounds. Bobby Geiger remains the No. 3 wrestler at 182 and Scott Skornicka is No. 2 at 195 pounds. Kyle Behrandt (285) is at No. 7 at his weight class for second-consecutive week.

Matt Halverson of Kiel is steady at No. 2 at 285 pounds. The Raiders’ Aaron Field is fifth at 182.

Valders’ Trevor Wittmus (152) and Brandon Brennan (195) are honorable mention selections.

Reedsville’s Grant Wedepohl is the second-ranked wrestler in D3 at 170. Mitchell Schwahn (120) is at No. 7 slot at his weight class for a second consecutive week, while Elliott Ebert (160) is now the second-ranked wrestler at his weight for second week.

Tyler Schuh remains at No. 7 at 182 for a second-straight week and Jordan Brandt (285) is honorable mention.

Jon Brendemuehl of Mishicot is No. 3 in D3 at 285 pounds, while Weston Cracraft is sixth at 138 for another week.
