PRP beats Fern Creek in semifinals of Louisville Invitational Tournament

Lamontray Harris scored 28 points, including 20 in the second half, to lead the Pleasure Ridge Park High School boys’ basketball team to a 70-60 victory over Fern Creek in Saturday’s semifinals of the Republic Bank Louisville Invitational Tournament at Valley.

Harris also had a game-high 14 rebounds as PRP (14-4) – No. 8 in the state in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings – advanced to face the Ballard-Trinity winner in Saturday’s 8 p.m. championship game.

PRP is in the LIT final for the first time since falling to Eastern in 2006. The Panthers last won the LIT in back-to-back years (1999 and 2000).

Khalid Raheem (13 points) and Antonio McDaniels (11 points, five steals) also scored in double figures for PRP, which trailed 33-24 at halftime but outscored the Tigers 46-27 in the second half.

Shawn Best scored 18 points to lead Fern Creek (13-5).
