Jeff Pacha has spent the past five seasons at Regina as one of Andy Gahan’s assistant baseball coaches.
This week, Pacha officially took Gahan’s old job leading the Regals.
Regina announced Pacha’s hiring this week after Gahan announced last summer that he would resign at the end of the season.
A 2007 Regina graduate, Pacha played at Iowa and graduated in 2011.
He was a Regina assistant coach for five season, helping lead the Regals to the state tournament last summer in Gahan’s final season.
Pacha was a three-time academic All-Big Ten pick during his playing days at Iowa and was twice a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award recipient.
Last season, Pacha was named Southeast District Assistant Coach of the Year.
“We are excited to have Jeff Pacha continue coaching at Regina. He has a tremendous passion for Regina, our Catholic mission and our athletic programs,” Regina athletic director Tim Foley said in a release. “At Regina and the University of Iowa, Jeff was as dedicated in the classroom as he was on the athletic fields. His commitment to both will be an asset for our student athletes.”
