Kalani Porto-Siurano had a two-run home run and Jason Alvis added a two-run single in the sixth to help lead La Vergne’s baseball team to a 9-3 win over West Creek on Tuesday night.

Mitchell Lovell (1-0) got the win. He went four innings, striking out seven and giving up two hits.

Riverdale 7, Johns Creek 5: Clint McCullough and Brad Woodson had two hits each in the win for the Warriors (1-1). Vanderbilt signee Collin Snider (1-0) collected the win, striking out three batters in three innings.

Cookeville 8, Stewarts Creek 3: Daniel Freeman (0-1) picked up the loss to the Cavaliers. Brandon Dial, Luke Alexander and Micah McClellan all had RBI singles.

Davidson Acad. 13, MTCS 0: Griffin Harper and Will Barnham had the only hits for MTCS (0-1). Philip Bonabi (0-1) took the loss in one inning pitched.


MTCS 3, Cheatham Co. 1: Carson Callahan scored all three goals for the Cougars (1-0).

Central Magnet 0, Stewarts Creek 0: Kris Dobson recorded five saves for Central (0-0-1) and Hunter Meek had 12 saves for the Red Hawks (0-0-1).

Centennial 3, La Vergne 0: Centennial broke the game open in the final 10 minutes, scoring twice to hand the Wolverines (0-1) the loss.


Cascade 12, Central Magnet 2: Cascade handed Central Magnet (1-1) its first loss of the season. Central Magnet finished with seven hits in the game.

Stewarts Creek 10, Eagleville 9 (8): Shianne Davis hit three doubles with two RBIs for Creek in its first high school softball contest. Sydney Heath had two singles and a double. Kendall Mills (1-0) struck out 10 for the win.



MTCS 6, White House 1: Will Reeves (8-3), Thomas Goodwyn (8-4), Griffin Emrick (8-2) and Jared Glidden (8-2) all had wins in singles action. The doubles teams of Reeves-Goodwyn (8-1) and Emrick-Corley (8-5) also won.


MTCS 7, White House 0: The Lady Cougars (2-0) remained unbeaten by shutting out the Lady Blue Devils. Sarah Brackin (8-0), Chandler Adams (8-0), Juliann Peters (8-3), Jenna Hixson (8-1) and Cammie Adams (8-1) each won for MTCS. The doubles teams of Brackin-Chandler Adams (8-0) and Hixson-Cammie Adams (8-2) also won.
