Riverdale senior Clay Riggs picked up his first win of the season, striking out four batters in five innings in a 6-5 win over statewide power Farragut.
The Admirals scored four unearned runs on Riggs (1-2). Derek Belcher threw 1 1⁄3 innings before giving way to Drew Huff, who ended the game with a strike out for his fifth save of the season.
Huff went 3-for-3 for the Warriors (13-6). Charlie Fultz and Haddon Adams each went 2-for-3. Riverdale had nine hits for the game.
Riverdale plays Fishers, Ind. at 10 a.m. today at Farragut and at South Doyle at 3 p.m.
Eagleville 9, Watertown 5: Curt Jones collected the win and hit a home run for the Eagles. Jones gave up three earned runs in three innings. He struck out three and walked three. He also drove in three runs at the plate. Weston Burris had two hits and drove in a run.
Cascade 11, MTCS 4: Phillip Jones (0-1) took the loss, giving up six earned runs in 2 1⁄3 innings pitched. He had one strikeout, walked four and gave up six hits. Philip Bonabi was 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBI. Griffin Harper had a hit with a RBI. And Ben Brown and Peyton Buckner each singled and scored for the Cougars (4-10).
MUS 8, Central Magnet 1: Wes Duffield took the loss, giving up four hits in five innings. MUS scored seven unearned runs in the second. Austin Timerlake, Josh Green and Will Norfleet all had hits for Central Magnet (13-6), which plays the loser of the Bolton-Lewisburg, Miss. game at 9 a.m. today in the USA Classic.
