CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Over the past week NBC Charlotte has given you the chance to let your voice be heard. South Mecklenburg and their great fans have spoken and we hear you, loud and clear. With 3,366 votes the Sabres believe they will win the 4A So Meck Soccer Conference.

The Sabres come into a critical stretch of conference games at just 3-2 in conference play. The Sabres currently sit fourth in the standings and with both Providence and Charlotte Catholic undefeated, the Sabres will need some help.

South Meck took on Providence on September 24 and though the game was lost to a great Providence team (11-1), the Sabres and fans should be optimistic for the rest of the season.

The Sabres will travel to Ardrey Kell on a wet Monday evening in Charlotte. The Knights come into the match in third place at 4-2 in league play.

The Knights sport an impressive 6-1 record at home while the Sabres have struggled on the road (0-2).

If the Sabres want to win this conference they have to start winning on the road. Ardrey Kell will be a tough test.

With five conference games left on the season, South Meck is very much in the race for a regular season conference title.

The Sabres will get two chances at redemption before tournament play. On October 13 Charlotte Catholic will travel to South Meck and on October 20, the last game of the season, the Sabres will travel to Providence.
