The Roy C. Ketcham High School volleyball team outlasted intradistrict rival John Jay, 26-24, 21-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-17, on Thursday in Wiccopee.
Gina Feeney paced the Indians (3-1) with 35 assists, to go with seven digs and three blocks, while Nicole Reuter added eight kills and 11 digs. Naraya Price had three kills and four blocks.
“Their defense was really good,” John Jay coach Maria Mahoney said. “We couldn’t put a ball down against their defense. Give them credit.”
Kirsten Zeir had 13 kills and 12 digs for John Jay, and Sam Fitzgerald added seven kills and five blocks.
“It was a long match, hot weather,” Mahoney said. “We couldn’t find the right combination tonight. Ketcham just beat us.”
Our Lady of Lourdes 3, Carmel 0 — The Warriors remained unbeaten this season with a 25-13, 25-23, 25-11 victory over visiting Carmel.
Joanne Gregory led the Warriors with 23 assists, and Briana Garnot had 17 kills, six aces, six digs and three blocks. Natalie Ciccone added six kills and five digs, and Lauren Brady had 10 digs.
Lourdes (3-0) travels to Arlington (1-2) on Friday.
Haldane 3, Pawling 0 — Kelly Vahos had 20 kills, eight digs and four blocks in the Blue Devils’ road sweep, 25-10, 25-11, 25-20.
Haldane (3-1) also received 12 assists and seven kills from Nicole Etta.
For Pawling (1-2), which visits Beacon Friday, Clara Lombardo had 12 assists and seven kills, Jaclyn Smith had 10 kills and eight assists, and Nicolette Smith added 13 digs.
Beacon 3, Peekskill 1 — Irina Alekseeva had 18 kills, five aces and two blocks as the Bulldogs won on the road, 25-13, 25-17, 24-26, 25-18.
Aneesa Dika (16 points, seven digs) and Jasmine Buckley (15 digs) also contributed to the victory, which raised Beacon’s record to 3-1.
Mahopac 3, Arlington 0 — The Admirals were swept on the road, 25-19, 25-17, 25-19. Arlington’s Angela Bracco had six kills and 13 digs.
Gianna Repicky added 15 digs and five kills, Rachael Torella had 12 assists, eight digs and four kills, and Kira Payman had four kills and 11 digs.
