The Seymour boys track team garnered 12 first-place finishes while the Seymour girls track team grabbed seven first-place finishes as the Thunder swept the team titles at the Bay Conference conference track meet at Denmark on Saturday.

Seymour won the boys title with 198 points, 77 points better than runner-up Denmark. Hortonville finished third with 110 points.

The Thunder girls finished with 134½ points while Hortonville took second with 10713 points.

Leading the Seymour girls was Michelle Wenninger who won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles and pole vault. Kristina Hermann had two first-place finishes for the Thunder, taking first place in the shot put and the discus. Jaclyn Zahn completed Seymour’s list of first-place finishes by winning the high jump.

New London’s Amber Pethke was a three-time winner, taking first in the 200- and 400-meter dashes as well as the long jump.

Hortonville’s Hannah Lohrenz won the 800-meter run and ran the third-leg of Hortonville’s first-place 1,600-meter relay team. Hortonville also won the 3,200-meter relay.

The Thunder boys put on a strong showing with a pair of three-time winners as Justin Skinkis won the 800- 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs and, Sandy Cohen taking first in the 300-meter hurdles, the long jump and triple jump. Alex Bloom doubled up with wins in the high jump and pole vault as did Kania Jackson in the shot put and discus. Seymour’s other first-place finishers were Marcus Cornelius with a win in the 100-meter hurdles and the 3,200-meter relay team of Zachary Bain, Kyle Peotter, Derek Sachs and Clayton Skogman.

Bonduel had five first-place finishes and easily outdistanced the field to win the boys’ confernece title.

Bonduel won the meet with 164 points, while Weyauwega-Fremont was fourth with 77½. Shiocton (62) placed sixth, while Manawa (38) was eighth.

Shiocton’s Justin Ver Voort won the high jump (5-feet, 8 inches), while teammate Jacob Van Asten took first in the discus (157-0).

In the girls meet, Wittenberg-Birnanwood took home first place for the eighth consecutive year, totaling 143 points with Iola-Scandinavia and Weyauwega-Fremont finishing second and third with 122 and 109 points, respectively.

Manawa’s Molly Loughrin won the 100-meter hurdles with atime of :16.36.

Caragan Volz of Weyauwega-Fremont took first in the triple jump with a distance of 34-feet, 1½ inches.
